Canada Company Connects

Dear <<c_First_Name>>,

Blake Goldring
Blake Goldring Founder and Chair Canada Company

I hope you are doing well and having an enjoyable summer. Here at Canada Company, we’ve been busy planning many exciting events across the country. We're hard at work building on our mission to support the Canadian Armed Forces, their families, and veterans, as well as educate Canadians about the CAF’s value and impact.

We are so proud of our achievements these past few months. To mention a couple, two CAF awareness sell-out events held in Calgary and Toronto where we connected CAF leadership with corporate Canada business leaders.

I’m so excited to see all the activities that are planned for this fall including two CAF Experience Days, two Junior Canadian Rangers (JCR) events, and several additional ‘CAF Reconstitution Speaker Series’ luncheon events. So much to look forward to!

As we celebrate the halfway mark in the year, I hope you enjoy this issue of our newsletter … a snapshot of what we’ve accomplished over the past few months serving as an enduring bridge between the CAF and the public to promote awareness, education, and wellbeing.

BC Military Gala

On May 6, Canada Company and its Chapter President George Salamis were delighted to host several of our individual and corporate partners at the BC Military Gala in Vancouver. The Military Ball originated in 1946 to celebrate the end of World War II and has continued every year since. Over 400 service personnel and civilians were in attendance including the Master of Ceremonies, Ms. Coleen Christie of Global BC News.

It was a wonderful evening of music and mingling!

Canada Company Annual Golf Tournament
AGF for Canada Company Annual Golf Tournament

The 26th Annual AGF Charity Golf Classic, in benefit of Canada Company, was held on Monday, May 29 at the King City Golf Course in Ontario.

The weather was outstanding, and everyone had a fantastic time. We thank the organizers for once again selecting Canada Company as their charity of choice.

Junior Canadian Rangers 25th Anniversary

The 2023 National Marksmanship Championship, held on May 19 in St. Catharines, Ontario, was the first of several national activities celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Junior Canadian Rangers Program in Canada. It was our honour to attend and present special commemorative pins to the JCRs and support staff.

We also unveiled a commemorative coin that features the JCR 25th anniversary logo and the JCR crest. The first two coins were co-presented by our Managing Director Marie Claire Ouellette and Programs Manager Jay Yakabowitch to Lieutenant-Colonel Kevin Langlois, Acting Director Canadian Rangers, and Chief Warrant Officer Mike Egan, Corps Sergeant Major. The coins will be available to all JCRs beginning August 3, 2023 at the ’National Leader Enhanced Training Session’ in Whitehorse, YK and shortly after, through each of the JCR Patrol Groups across Canada.

As part of our work championing education and wellbeing, Canada Company has been supporting the Junior Canadian Rangers for more than four years, providing bursaries and financial support to help JCRs bring positive impacts to their communities and the world.

Luncheon with Lieutenant-General (Ret’d) the Honourable Andrew Leslie

On May 24, we hosted an event at the Calgary Ranchmen’s Club with guest speaker Lieutenant-General (Ret’d) the Honourable Andrew Leslie to discuss the current geo-strategic situation. It was an insightful session of strategic discussion and exchanging knowledge.

Blake Goldring, Chair & Founder, Canada Company addresses a full-room of Corporate Canada Leadership with special guest speaker General Leslie who shared his thoughts on the geo-political challenges Canada is facing today.
Guests gather and mingle at the reception prior to the luncheon speaker engagement.

Luncheon with Lieutenant-General E. J. Kenny, Commander of the RCAF

On June 8, in partnership with The National Club, we launched our CAF Reconstitution Series with speaker Lieutenant-General E. J. Kenny, Commander of the RCAF.

The series will provide opportunities for military and industry leaders to connect and open opportunities to improve Canada’s future.

Thank you for your commitment

As always, we would like to thank the men and women of the Canadian Armed Forces who are serving the country, their families, and our veterans. It is our mission to ensure your service and sacrifices never go unnoticed.

We also thank our strategic and corporate partners who help make our initiatives possible with their support. And of course, we thank all our donors for your continued support. It’s because of you all that we can deliver programs and services that give our military members, leaders, veterans, and their families the support, recognition, and care they deserve.

Best wishes,

Canada Company Logo

Canada Company provides Canadians with many ways to serve the people who serve Canada: Our military members, veterans, and their families — on active duty and in civilian life.

We provide support for military families through scholarships, direct financial support, and more. We provide civilians with a better understanding of military life, to promote the value of service. We also act as a bridge between military personnel, civilians, and Canadian businesses to increase understanding of what it means to serve. And we honour the memory of our men and women in uniform through events and memorials.

Serve those who bravely serve our nation. Support one of our initiatives today.
