Canada Company Connects

Dear <<c_First_Name>>,

As we transition into the crisp and colorful days of fall, I hope you’re finding joy in the changing scenery. It has been a dynamic time for Canada Company across our great country, and I am thrilled to share with you our recent activities and upcoming events.

Over the last few months, Canada Company launched the Military History Learning Program, held our annual Children of the Fallen Scholarship Ceremony, hosted the Junior Canadian Rangers Bursary Awards Ceremony, held an engaging CAF Speaker Series Luncheon with Rear-Admiral Kurtz, and hosted exciting CAF Experience Days at CFB Trenton and CFB Halifax — providing participants with an immersive view into the lives of our military members.

We are already busy preparing for many more events across the country focussed on education, awareness, and improving wellbeing. For more details and to stay updated, visit our website or follow us on social media.

As always, thank you for your ongoing support and dedication to Canada Company’s mission.

EDUCATION

Launching the Military History Learning Program

One of our proudest achievements this season was the launch of the Military History Learning Program in Toronto. Made possible through generous support from BMO and in collaboration with TVO Media Education Group, this program is bringing captivating military history lessons to classrooms across Ontario, aiming to ignite a lasting interest among young learners.

The Je Me Souviens (JMS) program started in Quebec in 2018, reaching over 160,000 students to date. The Ontario program, Honouring Bravery, will be accessible to school boards starting in September 2024. Both programs fall under the umbrella of our Military History Learning Program.

Children of the Fallen Scholarship Ceremony

On August 15, we held our 17th Annual Children of the Fallen Scholarship Ceremony in Toronto.

This year, we had a total of 18 recipients, with 9 of them joining us in person for the ceremony. Special guests included The Honourable Edith Dumont, Lieutenant-Governor of Ontario, and Brigadier-General Tod Strickland, Commandant of the Canadian Forces College.

AWARENESS

CAF Speaker Series with RAdm Kurtz

In April, we hosted another installment of our CAF Speaker Series, Seas the Opportunity, presented in partnership with Accenture, our strategic collaborator for the series.

Rear-Admiral Kurtz, Commander Maritime Forces Atlantic and Joint Task Force Atlantic, delivered an outstanding presentation that resonated deeply, emphasizing the vital role of community and the CAF’s strong connection to it.

Unforgettable CAF Experience Days

Canada Company hosted thrilling CAF Experience Days at CFB Trenton, Canada’s largest airbase, and at CFB Halifax, home to Maritime Forces Atlantic and Joint Task Force Atlantic. The CAF Experience Days offered business and community leaders a rare chance to immerse themselves in the leadership and intricacies of military life.
